Metrics Your Homecare Recruiter Should be Tracking

Hi Guys, Rachel Gartner here with Carework.

I wanted to talk with you really quickly about the four metrics that you should be tracking if you need to hire more caregivers.

Now, I'm sure most of you do need to hire more caregivers; but the thing is everybody, needs more caregivers, but everybody doesn't need the same strategies or the same areas to focus on to actually get more caregivers.

Your data is what's going to show you where you need to focus.

So, the first thing I want you to look at at least once a month is your cost per applicant.

This is just the most basic way to look at your return on investment for your ad spend and make sure that you're getting a good ROI before you add more money to the job ads.

So, I know it's tempting if you need more hires, to focus on just getting applicants and automatically increasing your ad budget.

Please don't do that unless it's working already!!

The number two metric that I want you to track, is the number of applicants that you get booked for interviews.

Specifically, look at that as a percentage.

You want to see that first step of the conversion pipeline to make

sure that you're getting qualified applicants and you're handling them well.

That percentage is a great thing to track at least once a month,

but preferably, even once a week what percentage of applicants are booking interviews with you.

The next metric, I want you to track is the percentage of interviews that are successful.

This means, the candidate shows up, they're qualified, and they accept the job offer.

This is a great way to track the health of your agency and how well you are representing yourself to potential hires.

The fourth metric that I want you to track again, at least once a month, but ideally once a week,

is the total percent of applicants that get hired.

This is a bird's-eye view of your recruiting pipeline.

This will give you something measurable to look at over time,

to see if you are getting better or worse at recruiting.

This also gives you an idea of the market across the country. to see how you are in comparison to the national trends and if this is an area you need to focus on.

If you have a good conversion rate, then you're ready to spend more on your job ads and scale your agency but you want to check these numbers first.

If you're not sure how to do this or you're not sure what these numbers mean for your agency, please let us know!

We would love to help you track these numbers in an easier way and also help show you what to do with these numbers:

If there are good? if they're not good? How you can use them?
What to which strategies to try
Where to focus your time? Where to focus your money?

This is our area of expertise! So, if you own a home care,

home help, or hospice agency, please start tracking these metrics at least once a month. If you're not sure what to do with them, or how to organize your process, to make this easy to track, please reach out to us here at Carework!

We would love to help!
